Get Your Pre-Code Fix this Weekend in Toronto

Whether you’re a Pre-code film fan already or you’re looking to dig deeper and learn more about this fascinating period in film history, the Toronto Film Society is about to make you very happy. The Society’s annual May weekend is devoted solely to the Pre-Code era this year. That’s 3 full days of nothing but bad girls, shady guys, and risque double entendre!

All screenings are at the Carlton Cinema, 20 Carlton Street, Toronto, Ontario. Film screenings begin at 9:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The cost for the full weekend – all 24 films plus 3 lunches – is $150.00. Or if you only want to do part of the week, the Society offers a daily rate of $65 for the Friday or Saturday and $50 for Sunday. Rush seats for individual films will be available for $10.00 at the door prior to each screening.

Find the complete list of films, plus the individual screening times below. And because I love you all so much, almost as much as I love Pre-Code films, I’ve linked each film title to an awesome review from my favorite bloggers and film sites! You can find the registration form for the weekend on the Toronto Film Society website.

See ya at the movies!
