We’re so on top of what’s hot in the movie sites world here at Pretty Clever Films, we’re going to tell you about a film website that doesn’t even exist yet. Yeah… word to yo mama. Chicago based The Dissolve is set to launch sometime this summer. Currently, the (amazing) team over there are teasing us with Tumblog bits while the site’s eventual home url mocks us with a Coming Soon.
If the Tumblr posts are any indication, The Dissolve promises to be a thoughtful, thought provoking movie site that will span categories and kinds of film. How am I so sure there’s so much promise here? Check out this list of core staff, as culled from this Pitchfork article: Editorial Director Keith Phipps, former editor of The A.V. Club and a contributor to NPR.org, Slate, and other publications; editor Scott Tobias, the former film editor of The A.V. Club and a contributor to NPR.org; senior editor Tasha Robinson(The A.V. Club, Chicago Tribune, NPR.org); senior editor Genevieve Koski (The A.V. Club); staff writer Nathan Rabin (The A.V. Club, and author of The Big Rewind, My Year of Flops, andYou Don’t Know Me But You Don’t Like Me); staff writer Noel Murray (The A.V. Club, Los Angeles Times); and News Editor Matt Singer (Indiewire, Filmspotting: SVU).
I know right? There’s a cinephile’s dream team, right there!
Be sure to keep an eye http://thedissolve.com/ for the full site. In the meantime…
