Ah, Mother’s Day! The one day when we’re all forced to fete our mums, no matter how many hours of therapy they’ve caused. But to put things into perspective, let’s have a look at the top 5 worst movie moms to ever nag (or worse!) their way across the screen. Remember – now matter how many times your mom asks when you’re going to settle down, have kids, or just get a real job – it could be much, much worse.

Top 5 Worst Movie Moms

5. The Manchurian Candidate (1962)

No matter what issues you’ve got with your mom, she’s probably never brain-washed you into becoming a political assassin to further her own political gains. Unless you’re George W. Bush – then maybe.

4. The Graduate (1967)

Unless you have actually appeared on The Jerry Springer show with your mother, she probably has not seduced your boyfriend.

3. Carrie (1976)

Sure, it was embarrassing when your mom gave you a copy of Our Body, Ourselves… but did she lock you in the closet with a shrine to cleanse your impurity?

2. Mommie Dearest (1981)

Look it’s hard to be a mother sometimes, so cut your mom some slack. If she never beat you with a wire hanger, you’re ahead of the game!

1. Psycho (1960)

Is your mom’s voice kinda hanging around the back of your head, providing a running commentary on your short comings? As long as that voice doesn’t insist you dress us in her favorite dress and kill passer’s by, you’re really not damaged at all!

I was going to say Mrs. Vorhees but she was kind of a good mom
